The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine strongly condemns the "official" meeting of the self-proclaimed president of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, with the representative of the russian occupation authorities in the temporarily occupied part of the territory of the Donetsk Region of Ukraine, Denys Pushylin.
This is indicated in the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Sunday, September 22.
In Ukraine, Lukashenko's meeting with the leader of the occupiers was called "an insult to the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine", which was dictated by the instructions of the aggressor country, russia.
"Ukraine rejects Aleksandr Lukashenko's hypocritical rhetoric regarding the "principles" of cooperation with the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine and considers it yet another evidence of support for the war of aggression against our country," the Foreign Ministry emphasized.
The department emphasized that the unfriendly actions of the political leadership of Belarus will have negative consequences for Ukrainian-Belarusian relations and will not remain without a reaction. In addition, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs urged people to realize that all Lukashenko's statements about "warm feelings" towards the "fraternal Ukrainian people" sound like a mockery, and his actions destroy all the foundations on which relations between the Ukrainian and Belarusian peoples were built.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on September 17, the self-proclaimed president of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, said that he allegedly agreed with Ukraine not to publicly cover the facts of drone flights on Belarusian territory.
On September 9, the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine announced that Belarus is trying to suppress information about russian drones flying into the country's airspace.
On August 18, the Border Guard Service responded to Lukashenko's threats to transfer almost a third of the Belarusian army to the border.
