Germany hands over new aid package to Ukraine, which includes 22 Leopard 1 A5 tanks

Germany has provided Ukraine with a new package of defense aid, which includes, in particular, 22 Leopard 1 A5 tanks, as well as 61,000 155 mm ammunition.

This is stated on the website of the German government.

So, the new aid package from Germany for Ukraine included:

  • 22 Leopard 1 A5 tanks with spare parts (joint project with Denmark);
  • 22 Mine-Resistant Ambush-Protected Vehicles (MRAP);
  • 5 all-Terrain Tracked Vehicles Bandvagn 206 (BV206);
  • 1 All Terrain Tracked Carrier Warthog;
  • 3 self-propelled anti-aircraft guns GEPARD with spare parts;
  • 2 TRML-4D air surveillance radars;
  • 61,000 rounds of 155 mm caliber ammunition;
  • 30 reconnaissance drones VECTOR with spare parts;
  • 20 reconnaissance drones RQ-35 HEIDRUN;
  • 20 unmanned surface vehicles;
  • 12 SONGBIRD reconnaissance drones;
  • 6 Hornet XR;
  • 3 bridge-laying tanks BEAVER with spare parts;
  • 1 DACHS armored engineer vehicle with spare parts;
  • 6 WISENT 1 mine clearing tank with spare parts;
  • materials for disposal of explosive objects (from Bundeswehr warehouses and industry);
  • 16 ground surveillance radars;
  • 2 AMPS self-defense systems for helicopters;
  • 2 cars for border protection;
  • 112 cars (trucks, minibuses, all-terrain vehicles);
  • 8 Zetros tankers;
  • 10 MG3 machine guns with 500 spare barrels and breech boards;
  • 1 million rounds of ammunition for firearms.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, Germany allocated an additional EUR 50 million for the treatment of wounded Ukrainian soldiers.
