The European Union has allocated EUR 160 million to support Ukraine's energy security.
The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, informed about this on X, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
"Our support to Ukraine’s energy security since Feb 2022 reaches at least €2 bn. Today we make another €160 mn available for this winter. Including close to €100 mn from the proceeds of frozen Russian assets in the EU. Russia must pay for the destruction it caused," she wrote.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, Germany has additionally allocated EUR 100 million to support Ukraine's energy industry.
