Russia spreading fake videos about Kamala Harris through troll farm

The Kremlin is cooperating with a troll farm that spreads fakes about the US Democratic presidential candidate, Vice President Kamala Harris.

The Microsoft Threat Analysis Center (MTAC) came to this conclusion.

In late August and September, russian bot farms Storm-1516 and Storm-1679 successfully distributed videos discrediting Harris. This is how the russian federation tried to spread controversy surrounding her campaign.

Storm-1516 is a troll farm linked to the Kremlin. Fake videos were created there, which were then published on social networks and mass media. Each such video gained millions of views. In one of them, Harris supporters allegedly attack a possible participant in the Trump rally. In the second video, the actress pretended to be Harris, who was allegedly running away from the scene of the road accident. The video was published on a website created a few days before, which masqueraded as media from San Francisco.

Storm-1679 is another group of trolls working for the Kremlin. There, false videos were also produced, which then got into Telegram and X social network. One such video showed a billboard in New York with false statements about Harris's politics. In four hours, the post gained more than 100,000 views.

MTAC specialists discovered the connection of troll factories with China and Iran.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, billionaire Elon Musk published a meme about Volodymyr Zelenskyy, which was created by a bot factory under sanctions and subordinated to the Kremlin.
