Men of limited fitness between ages of 18 and 25 will be stopped being mobilized - Stefanchuk

Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, Ruslan Stefanchuk, announced that the Armed Forces of Ukraine will stop mobilizing men of limited fitness between the ages of 18 and 25.

He said this at a briefing, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

"First of all, the Armed Forces will not call for the mobilization of persons aged 18 to 25. This will be stated in their order, which they promised to issue by the end of this week," he said about the meeting with the military leadership.

Also, according to him, the Armed Forces of Ukraine will not send already mobilized men of limited fitness from 18 to 25 years old to assault areas or other areas associated with increased risk to life and health.

"It was agreed that during this period, which we will have between this meeting and the next one, to get together and think about what legislative mechanism we can make in order to ensure the rotation of these persons, and what deferral in the introduction of this law will be introduced, so that it will be sufficient in order to take out these persons who have already been mobilized, and bring in their place other trained persons who meet the requirements of the law on mobilization. This is a step-by-step plan that we have agreed with the military," Stefanchuk added.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the Cabinet of Ministers has simplified the granting of deferment from mobilization when caring for the sick or persons with disabilities.
