The Verkhovna Rada increased defense spending by UAH 500 billion.
This was announced by the first deputy head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Tax and Customs Policy, Member of Parliament from the Holos faction Yaroslav Zhelezniak in Telegram, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
"Parliament adopted as a whole No. 11417 regarding the increase of the budget this year by UAH 500 billion for military needs. For - 298," he wrote.
Thus, this year's expenditures amount to a record-breaking UAH 3.73 trillion for Ukraine.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the Cabinet of Ministers plans to reduce spending on security and defense in 2025-2027 from UAH 2,226.8 billion to UAH 1,532.8 billion.
The Cabinet of Ministers proposes to the Verkhovna Rada to increase funding for national security and defense in 2025 to UAH 2,223 billion or 26.3% of GDP.
