Russia is afraid of international observers’ presence in Kursk Oblast - Foreign Ministry

The reaction of the Kremlin to the possibility of the arrival of the UN and ICRC in the Kursk Oblast shows, in particular, the fear of the russian authorities that international observers will see the real situation in the region.

This was announced by the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Heorhii Tykhyi, on X.

"The Kremlin’s reaction to Ukraine’s offer for the UN and ICRC to join humanitarian efforts in the Kursk region shows russia’s disregard for its own people and their humanitarian needs, as well as fear of allowing international observers to see the real situation. Quite telling," the message says.

Earlier, the press secretary of the russian leader, Dmitry Peskov, called Ukraine's invitation of the Red Cross and the UN to areas under the control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kursk Oblast as a provocation, the russian propaganda publication TASS reported.
