The russian military began to counterattack the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kursk Oblast, as planned by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during a press conference with Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda, RBC-Ukraine reports.
"The russians have started counteroffensive actions. Everything is going, but it is going according to our Ukrainian plan," the President commented on the situation in the Kursk Oblast.
According to Zelenskyy, Ukrainian intelligence has long noticed the gathering of Belarusian troops near the Ukrainian border.
"Regarding Belarus. We have seen the crowding. We have seen it for a long time. We are monitoring this process," the President added.
What is happening in the Kursk Oblast
The operation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kursk Oblast has been ongoing since August 6, and as of August 27, the Ukrainian military already controlled 1,300 square kilometers of russian territory and about 100 settlements. More than 600 russian soldiers were captured by Ukraine.
Russian propaganda Telegram channels announced on Wednesday, September 11, that the army of the aggressor country of russia launched a counteroffensive in the Kursk Oblast.
The next day, they reported that the Armed Forces of Ukraine were trying to break through to the Glushkovsky district of the Kursk Oblast in another place, on a new section of the border.
At the same time, the Ukrainian analytical project DeepState wrote about "the worsening of the situation on the left flank of our grouping in the Kursk Oblast."
