Croatian manufacturer of demining machines opens office in Ukraine

Croatian manufacturer of robotic systems for humanitarian demining opens its office in Ukraine.

This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Economy with reference to Minister Yuliya Svyrydenko.

"One of the world leaders in the field of robotic systems for humanitarian demining, the Croatian company DOK-ING opens its office in Kyiv. Ukraine is one of the key users of DOK-ING demining machines, and the opening of the office will help strengthen the coordination of mine action efforts between Ukraine and Croatia,” Svyrydenko said during the opening ceremony of the office.

According to her, 45 Croatian DOK-ING demining machines are currently operating in Ukraine, which have helped clear more than a thousand hectares of Ukrainian land.

The State Emergency Service of Ukraine uses DOK-ING equipment the most. They have 10 MV-4 light demining vehicles and 14 MV-10 heavy demining vehicles in their fleet. Croatian demining machines are also used by the State Special Transport Service, humanitarian demining operators and units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Of the 45 DOK-ING machines operating in Ukraine, 8 are manufactured at the Ukrainian plant, which is a partner of the Croatian company.

The Ukrainian company A3TECH carries out large-unit assembly of DOK-ING demining machines with partial localization: part of the working body is already manufactured in Ukraine, and by the end of the year the company is ready to bring its level of localization to 100%.

The company produced eight MV-10 localized heavy demining vehicles this year, six of which have already been handed over to the State Special Transport Service.

DOK-ING manufactures both light and heavy robotic demining and explosive ordnance disposal machines. Due to its low profile and robust design, this equipment is resistant to detonations of anti-personnel mines and unexploded ordnance and withstands the explosion of an anti-tank mine. DOK-ING machines are controlled by a remote control with a range of up to 1,500 meters.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, according to the World Bank's estimate, nearly USD 35 billion will be needed to demine the entire territory of Ukraine.
