Ukrainian agricultural producers can provide up to 95% of AFU food needs – Agrarian Policy Ministry

The Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food believes that Ukrainian agricultural producers can provide up to 95% of the food needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

This is stated in the message of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, reports Ukrainian News Agency.

According to Taras Vysotskyi, First Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food, the food security strategy, which was recently adopted by the government, includes the possibility of providing Ukrainian products to the defense forces, including during martial law.

He also emphasized that food for the Armed Forces must meet high quality standards.

"It is very important that the food consumed by our defenders is of high quality and safe. The Ministry of Agrarian Policy approves the principles of checking safety and quality indicators. It is also necessary to monitor food for the army, so that no one has doubts about the safety and quality of food for the Armed Forces," noted Vysotskyi.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the Cabinet of Ministers approved the food security strategy until 2027.
