There is no consensus yet - President Zelenskyy on lifting of restrictions by partners on strikes on russia

There is still no consensus among the allies on lifting restrictions on Ukraine's use of long-range weapons for strikes against russia. But discussions continue.

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, stated this on the air of the telethon.

"There is no consensus yet. But I remember how I worked on the use of appropriate weapons on the territory of the temporarily occupied Crimea. There was also no consensus then, but it is important to find the key to at least one country, and then others can step up," the President said.

Zelenskyy added that Ukraine is working on lifting restrictions on the use of long-range weapons. The head of state noted that he met with Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, and also spoke with French President Emmanuel Macron on this issue.

"If the situation in the country will allow me to go to the General Assembly (UN, ed.) in September, we will summarize the results of all these meetings with President Biden," the head of state said.
