The Netherlands will transfer F-16 maintenance equipment and air-to-air missiles to Ukraine

The Minister of Defense of the Netherlands, Ruben Brekelmans, announced that equipment for the maintenance of F-16 fighters and air-to-air missiles will be transferred to Ukraine.

Brekelmans said this at a meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group (Ramstein).

"F-16 aircraft need auxiliary materials and spare parts for maintenance, otherwise they will not be able to fly. The Netherlands will supply materials worth EUR 80 million," the press service of the Ministry of Defense of the Netherlands quotes him as saying.

Brekelmans noted that in addition to aircraft spare parts, the aid package will include cars, generators and specialized tools.

In addition, a batch of air-to-air missiles will be handed over to Ukraine, with the help of which the Armed Forces will be able to shoot down russian missiles.

For security reasons, Brekelmans did not name the number and type of missiles that Ukraine will receive. He also did not specify the terms of delivery of the above aid.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on August 31, the American outlet The Wall Street Journal informed that the United States refused to send contractors to Ukraine to maintain F-16 fighter jets.

Recall that on September 6 it became known that Ukraine still has not established the cause of the crash of the F-16 plane that crashed on August 26.
