The fifth member of the supervisory board of the Ukrenergo national energy company will be appointed in September, and a competition for two vacant positions in the company's supervisory board will also be announced.
Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal announced this in his speech during the Hour of Questions for the Government" in the Verkhovna Rada on September 6, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
"Regarding the supervisory board of Ukrenergo. Indeed, two members have written resignations. But the government carried out all procedures after the end of the competition for the appointment of the seventh member of the supervisory board at that time. Now there is a shortlist of three candidates, and I think that we in the near future, within two weeks, I will also ask the Minister of Energy to carry out all the procedures and appoint the fifth member of the supervisory board within two weeks. Of course, we will announce a competition for two vacant positions," he said.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on September 3, the chairman of the supervisory board of Ukrenergo, Daniel Dobbeni, and the member of the supervisory board, Peder Andreasen, decided to terminate their powers due to the unjustified dismissal of the head of the company, Volodymyr Kudrytskyi.
They also stated about political pressure and constant attempts to bypass the competition to appoint people whose professional qualities were doubtful to the board of Ukrenergo.
According to the decision of the supervisory board of NEC Ukrenergo, the head of the company, Volodymyr Kudrytskyi, was dismissed from his position on the evening of September 2.
Oleksiy Brecht, the current member of the board, will perform the duties of the head of Ukrenergo.
