The aggressor country, the russian federation, is preparing the next massive missile and drone strikes on Ukraine's energy system.
Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced this during question time to the government, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
"We already know, there is intelligence, that the next massive missile and drone strikes on our energy system are being prepared," the head of the government said.
According to him, if the energy situation is fixed as it is now, Ukrainians will be able to get through the winter without blackouts, but "we understand that the enemy will not give us such luxury."
Shmyhal explained that as of now, as a result of enemy shelling, Ukraine has lost 9 GW of generation, which is half of the pre-war volume of electricity consumption.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko said that in the absence of critical strikes on the power system, there will be no blackouts in winter.
Electricity consumption is decreasing due to decreasing heat in most regions.
Ukrenergo predicted the application of one round of shutdowns on September 6.
