The Defense Forces of Ukraine managed to stop the advance of the troops of the aggressor country of russia in the Pokrovsk Axis. The enemy has not advanced a single meter there in the last six days.
The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, said this in an interview with CNN on Thursday, September 5.
According to him, the Ukrainian troops were under enormous pressure from the russian invaders near Pokrovsk, Donetsk Region. For several weeks, this city was the epicenter of the war in eastern Ukraine, CNN notes. Syrskyi said that the Armed Forces of Ukraine managed to stop the advance of the russians in this Axis.
"Over the past six days, the enemy has not advanced a single meter in the Pokrovsk Axis. In other words, our strategy is working. We have taken away from them the opportunity to maneuver and deploy their reinforcements from other Axes... And this weakening is clearly felt in other areas as well," the Commander-in-Chief emphasized.
The number of artillery fire, as well as the intensity of the offensive, also decreased, Syrskyi noted.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on September 5, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg announced Ukraine's success in the offensive against russia's Kursk Oblast.
On September 3, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that Ukraine would keep under its control the territory of the aggressor country of russia in order to force russian dictator vladimir putin to negotiate.
On August 27, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, announced that the Defense Forces of Ukraine took control of 1,294 square kilometers of territory in the Kursk Oblast of russia, 100 settlements, and also captured 594 russian servicemen.
