The US promises more aid "in the coming weeks".
White House communications adviser John Kirby told the press at an audio briefing on Tuesday, September 3, Voice of America reports.
The official expressed his condolences to the Ukrainians after another massive russian attack on Poltava.
"This is yet another horrifying reminder of the extent of putin's brutality against the people of Ukraine, the way he is trying to punish them for his own invasion of that country by attacking critical infrastructure and trying to make their lives and livelihoods more difficult," Kirby said.
He emphasized that US President Joe Biden "made it clear" that US support for Ukraine "remains steadfast, and we will continue to focus on strengthening its army and air defenses against such attacks."
"As you saw, just 10 days ago we announced another military aid package that included ammunition for HIMARS systems, anti-drone equipment, ammunition, Javelin, anti-tank systems, and more to come in the coming weeks. So we're going to continue to support Ukrainians and try to protect them from such attacks," Kirby added.
It will be recalled that on September 4, a three-day mourning for those killed in a missile attack was announced in the Poltava Region. As of September 4, 52 people are known to have been killed as a result of a missile attack on Poltava on September 3.
In addition, Syrskyi reported that the military service of law and order in the Armed Forces of Ukraine is maximally involved in the operational investigation of the russian missile attack.
