Warsaw makes final decision regarding downing of russian missiles and drones over Ukraine - Polish MFA

Despite the request of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, Poland will not shoot down russian missiles and drones over the territory of Ukraine. The Poles categorically refused such a request of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, which was presented by Dmytro Kuleba.

The position of the Polish side was made public on Polskie Radio 24 by the Deputy Minister of Defense of Poland, Paweł Zalewski.

According to an official of the Polish Ministry of Defense, the EU countries, which are also part of the NATO military bloc, are not one of the parties to the russian-Ukrainian military conflict. Therefore, they will not take any armed part in this conflict. Thus, Poland does not give its consent to the downing of russian aerial objects over the territory of Ukraine.

"We do not consider in any format, especially bilaterally, what is actually one of Ukraine's expectations, that is, the possibility of shooting down Russian missiles or drones from Polish territory. We believe that the radical strengthening of Ukraine's air defense should be sufficient and does not require such support from the Polish Air Force," stressed the deputy head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
