On the Kursk axis, the Armed Forces of Ukraine advanced another 2 km, took control of 5 square kilometers of territory, on the Pokrovsk axis - all attacks were repelled.

The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, announced this at a meeting of the Staff of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, a video fragment of which President Volodymyr Zelenskyy shared on the Telegram channel, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

"The most difficult situation remains on the Pokrovsk axis, the enemy is trying to break through the defense of our troops, but as of this morning, all attacks have been repulsed, the enemy has had no success. On the Kursk axis, the offensive operation continues. During the day, our troops advanced up to 2 km on some axes, took control of 5 square kilometers of territory," Syrskyi reported.

According to him, the situation on other axes remains difficult, but controlled.

In turn, Zelenskyy added that the Commander-in-Chief separately reported on the details of the operation in the Kursk Region, in particular on the next replenishment of the exchange fund, which is extremely important for strengthening Ukrainian positions in exchange processes.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on August 27, during the "Ukraine 2024. Independence" forum, Syrskyi announced that the Armed Forces of Ukraine took control of 1,294 square kilometers of territory in the Kursk Region (russia), 100 settlements, and also captured 594 russian servicemen.

On August 29, Syrskyi, reporting on the situation on the Pokrovsk axis in the Donetsk Region, where the most difficult situation has developed at that time, noted that there the enemy is throwing into battle everything that can move and advance, trying to break through the defense of the Ukrainian troops.
