A public prosecution has been initiated against Zhang Hongli, former vice president of the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC), on suspicion of taking bribes.

Following the Supreme People's Procuratorate (SPP)'s designation, the Hangzhou Municipal People's Procuratorate in east China's Zhejiang Province recently filed a lawsuit against Zhang with the Intermediate People's Court of Hangzhou, according to an SPP statement released.
The lawsuit comes following the conclusion of an investigation by the National Commission of Supervision into Zhang's case.
Zhang has been charged by the procuratorate with abusing his position to secure benefits for others and illegally accepting substantial bribes in the form of money and valuables.
