IAEA Director General sees "traces of drone attack" at Kursk NPP

Director General of the IAEA, Rafael Grossi, said that he saw traces of drone attacks at the Kursk Nuclear Power Plant of the aggressor state of russia.

Suspilne.Novyny reported this on Tuesday, August 27.

Grossi visited the Kursk NPP because there was a "danger of a nuclear incident" at the plant. According to him, the IAEA wants to prevent strikes on this nuclear power plant, since the reactors of this plant do not have a protective shell, and the active zone of the reactor is located "actually in an ordinary building." Grossi said that the station is operating in a near-normal mode, but there are traces of a drone attack.

"As the director general, I take the issue seriously if it concerns someone to point the finger at and blame. But I can say one thing - we are considering it in the context of this war," said the director general of the IAEA.

The IAEA wants to prevent a nuclear disaster and find a joint solution to the situation with "russian colleagues", Grossi emphasized. Next week, he plans to visit Ukraine and discuss the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, russian propaganda media began to mass-distribute information about Ukraine's alleged preparations for strikes on the Zaporizhzhia and Kursk Nuclear Power Plants.

On August 23, at the Kursk NPP, the aggressor state of russia held a cross procession and held a prayer service against the background of the successful advance of the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
