Ukraine has already deployed F-16 fighter jets to repel a massive russian attack on August 26. The Ukrainian military shot down some missiles with the help of these planes.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated this at a press conference.
"The F-16s is a very good result, a lot of people talked about it. As part of this missile attack (August 26 — Ed.), we shot down some missiles with the help of the F-16s, and we thank our partners for providing us with these F-16s. We have not many of them and this is not enough. We need to train pilots. We have proposals for the United States, but we need permission," he said.
We will remind, earlier Western media reported that the F-16 fighter jets transferred to Ukraine have already participated in combat missions, but only as a means of air defense.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, 15 regions were affected on Monday, August 26, as a result of a massive russian attack, and the energy infrastructure was once again the target of russian terrorists.
In the morning of August 26, anti-aircraft defense was working in the Kyiv Region, on the approaches to Kyiv, during an air alert throughout the territory of Ukraine, due to the threat of cruise missile launches from Tu-95MS aircraft of the russian federation.
Later it became known that the Air Defense Forces also worked in Kyiv itself. Points of invincibility were deployed in Kyiv due to emergency blackouts.
In addition, Poland raised Polish and allied aircraft in the sky due to a massive russian missile attack across Ukraine.
