President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Deputy Head of the Office of the President Oleh Tatarov and Head of the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) Vasyl Maliuk killed Chechens in Kyiv at the beginning of the war.
He said this at a press conference, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
The Ukrainian Pravda publication asked the President to evaluate the activities of the team of the Office of the President and another pro-government team.
"Oleh Tatarov and Vasyl Maliuk were killing Chechens here in Kyiv, while you (UP journalist - ed.) were not here," Zelenskyy said.
He positively assessed the work of his team.
Zelenskyy added that he held a meeting with journalists in the "offrecords" format, where he explained why his team is effective.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the former deputy head of the National Police, Dmytro Tyshlek, accidentally met the deputy head of the President's Office, Oleh Tatarov, on the street. Journalists recorded a meeting of two top officials in the government quarter: Deputy Head of the Office of the President Oleh Tatarov, who oversees the entire law enforcement system, and Deputy Head of the National Police of Ukraine Dmytro Tyshlek.
Vice Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Olha Stefanishyna and Deputy Head of the President's Office Oleh Tatarov are involved in the case of attempted bribery of Dnipro Mayor Borys Filatov for EUR 22 million by former Verkhovna Rada member Maksym Mykytas.
