Ukraine to resume electricity exports from August 25

Ukraine plans to resume electricity exports from August 25.

The press service of the Ukrenergo national energy company has announced this, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

"Given the economic impracticality of limiting the operation of SPPs, starting from August 25, Ukraine plans to resume electricity exports to neighboring countries. Already tomorrow, an auction will be held for access to interstate crossings in the directions of Romania, Hungary, and Moldova. This will avoid restrictions for Ukrainian electricity producers," the message says.

It is noted that the export of electricity will take place exclusively during the period of surplus - during the active operation of solar power plants.

At the same time, during the periods of maximum consumption, when there is not enough power in the power system, the export of electricity from Ukraine will not be carried out.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, Ukraine has not exported electricity since May 12.
