ESB completes investigation into Kolomoiskyi's case over UAH 5.3 billion

The Economic Security Bureau (ESB) separated the materials of the pre-trial investigation into the ex-owner of PrivatBank, Ihor Kolomoiskyi, into a separate criminal proceeding, in which the suspect was notified of the completion of the investigation.

This follows from a statement by the ESB, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

In particular, it was announced that the investigation was completed under four articles of the Penal Code of Ukraine: Section 3 of Article 27, Section 3 of Article 28, Section 2 of Article 366, Section 3 of Article 27, Section 3 of Article 28, Section 2 of Article 200, Section 3 of Article 27, Section 3 of Article 209, Section 3 of Article 27, and Section 5 of Article 191.

It is about illegal actions with bank documents during the actual failure of the suspects to deposit UAH 5.8 billion in the bank's cash register, as well as the seizure of more than UAH 5.3 billion, which was later legalized.

Section of the money unjustifiably credited to the personal accounts of the oligarch was formed at the expense of credit funds of a controlled bank.

In particular, it is more than UAH 2 billion.

In addition, ESB detectives proved the fact that the businessman had organized the seizure of more than UAH 3.3 billion of Ukrnafta and participants in joint investment agreements.

Thus, during the pre-trial investigation, it was established that the suspect organized the seizure of the funds of the joint-stock company by concluding fictitious contracts for works that were not actually performed.

The Kyiv Court of Appeal gave permission to place Ihor Kolomoiskyi in a medical facility outside the pre-trial detention center of the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU).
