The Verkhovna Rada has unblocked the signing of the law on increasing the excise tax on fuel.
Member of Parliament from the Holos faction, Yaroslav Zhelezniak, announced this on his Telegram channel, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
"All the blocking resolutions under bill No. 11256-2 on increasing the excise tax on fuel have failed," he wrote.
Once signed and published, the law will enter into force on September 1, 2024.
As Enkorr reports, according to the schedule of successive rate increases, which is provided for by law, the excise tax rates on gasoline will increase as follows:
- from September 1, 2024 — up to EUR 242.6/1,000 liters,
- from 2025 — up to EUR 271.70/1,000 liters,
- from 2026 — up to EUR 300.80/1,000 liters,
- from 2027 — up to EUR 329.90/1,000 liters,
- from 2028 — up to EUR 359/1,000 liters.
For diesel:
- from September 1, 2024 — up to EUR 177.6/1,000 liters,
- from 2025 — up to EUR 215.70/1,000 liters,
- from 2026 — up to EUR 253.8/1,000 liters,
- from 2027 – up to EUR 291.9/1,000 liters,
- from 2028 — up to EUR 330/1,000 liters.
For liquefied gas (propane or a mixture of propane and butane):
- from September 1, 2024 — up to EUR 148/1,000 liters,
- from 2025 — up to EUR 173/1,000 liters,
- from 2026 — up to EUR 198/1,000 liters,
- from 2027 — up to EUR 223/1,000 liters, from 2028 — up to EUR 250/1,000 liters.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, from July 2023 excise duty and value added tax (VAT) on fuel returned to pre-war levels, in particular the excise duty on gasoline increased 2.1 times, from EUR 100/1,000 liters to EUR 213.5/1,000 liters, the excise duty on diesel fuel - by 39.5%, from EUR 100/1,000 liters to EUR 139.5/1,000 liters, and the VAT rate - from 7% to 20%.
