Ukraine urgently requests heavy equipment from NATO due to russian shelling

The State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SESU) has appealed to NATO for international assistance to overcome the consequences of russian aggression for the civilian population of Ukraine.

The Euro-Atlantic Disaster Response Coordination Centre (EADRCC) has announced this.

"Russia’s Armed Forces are using various weapons systems in massive and chaotic ways against the civilian population of Ukraine. Missile attacks on civilians and critical infrastructure are causing injury and death among civilians and large-scale destruction of buildings and structures. To be able to respond rapidly, rescue people, deal with the consequences (including removal of debris and ruins), and perform related tasks, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SESU) urgently needs the in-kind assistance mentioned below. The equipment will be used by the SESU territorial units in various regions of Ukraine, notably those that are most affected by severe Russian attacks,” the message says.

The State Emergency Service of Ukraine requested the following equipment:

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on July 7, Estonian President Alar Karis said that NATO should spend more than 2% of GDP on defense.

On August 19, the President of the Czech Republic Petr Pavel stated that Ukraine's accession to the North Atlantic Alliance should not depend on the control of the territory.

Recall that NATO announced that they will invite Ukraine to the Alliance when all allies agree, and Kyiv fulfills all the necessary conditions.
