By the end of this year, Germany will hand over 4 more IRIS-T air defense systems of different ranges to Ukraine.
Wolfgang Büchner, the Deputy Spokesperson of the Federal Government and Deputy Head of the Press and Information Office of the Federal Government, has announced this, DW reports.
According to him, in addition to anti-aircraft missile systems, Ukraine will also receive 10 Gepard anti-aircraft self-propelled guns, 16 self-propelled howitzers, 10 Leopard main battle tanks, combat drones and several thousand rounds for artillery and tanks.
As early as next year, Germany is expected to transfer to Ukraine more than 20 self-propelled howitzers, 20 Marder infantry fighting vehicles, 37 Leopard main battle tanks, 5 Gepard anti-aircraft self-propelled installations, 6 IRIS-T anti-aircraft missile systems and several thousand rounds for artillery and tanks.
"And that is why there is no message from the government that the support will be reduced or otherwise limited," Büchner stressed.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in July Germany and Denmark handed over a new package of military aid to Ukraine - the Ukrainian military received Leopard 1 tanks, ammunition, radars and drones.
Meanwhile, the chairman of the Bundestag defense committee, Marcus Faber, does not consider it a problem that Ukraine uses German equipment on the territory of russia's Kursk Oblast.
Arne Collatz, the spokesman of the Ministry of Defense of Germany, said that after the transfer, the weapons from Germany become the property of Ukraine, so they can be used by Kyiv at its own discretion.
