Rada summons Halushchenko with report on his subordinates’ corruption

The Verkhovna Rada has summoned the Minister of Energy Herman Halushchenko with a report on the role of the Ministry in the fight against corruption in the energy sector.

Member of Parliament from the Holos faction, Yaroslav Zhelezniak, announced this on his Telegram channel, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

"Parliament supported the decision to urgently summon the Minister of Energy Herman Halushchenko for tomorrow with a report on the role of the ministry in (the fight against) corruption in the energy sector. I’ve submitted a corresponding proposal for a vote," he informed.

According to him, the corresponding initiative was supported by 270 votes of parliamentarians.

Zhelezniak noted that the reason for the summons was three suspicions of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau against three officials from the Ministry of Energy in a month.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the High Anti-Corruption Court chose a preventive measure in the form of detention with an alternative of a bail of UAH 25 million for former Deputy Minister of Energy Oleksandr Kheilo suspected of receiving a bribe.
