In the first 6 months of the current year, trade volumes between Germany and Ukraine surpassed trade volumes between Germany and russia.
This was announced by the Deputy Minister of Economy of Ukraine - Trade Representative of Ukraine, Taras Kachka, on Facebook.
According to the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, since the first half of 2024, Ukraine imported goods from Germany for EUR 3.6 billion (this is 6.7% more), and Ukraine exported goods for EUR 1.6 billion (an increase of 20%).
"Exports from Germany to the russian federation decreased by a quarter to EUR 3.7 billion, and imports of goods from the russian federation to Germany fell by 58% to EUR 1 billion," Taras Kachka notes, adding that in 2021, German exports to the russian federation amounted to EUR 26 billion.
As previously reported, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz assured that Germany will continue to support Ukraine, in particular with the help of a EUR 50 billion loan within the Group of Seven. Scholz's statement appeared against the background of a publication in the media about the reduction of military aid.
The German Foreign Ministry also reported that Germany did not prohibit Ukraine from using its weapons in the Kursk Oblast.
