The Verkhovna Rada's Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence recommends that the parliament adopt a law on the status of the military of the Armed Forces of Ukraine fighting on the territory of russia.
This is stated in the conclusion of the committee to bill No. 11483, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
The Committee recommends including the bill in the agenda and adopting it as a basis and as a whole.
The bill proposes to expand the list of persons to whom the law on social and legal protection of servicemen and their family members applies, including at the expense of Ukrainian citizens performing military duty on the territory of the aggressor state.
It is proposed to provide that the Law "On Social and Legal Protection of Servicemen and Members of Their Families" applies to servicemen serving in military service on the territory of Ukraine, and servicemen of the above-mentioned military formations, law enforcement and intelligence agencies - citizens of Ukraine performing military duty outside Ukraine, including on the territory of the aggressor state during their direct participation in the implementation and/or ensuring the implementation of measures necessary to ensure the defense of Ukraine, the protection of the safety of the population and the interests of the state in connection with armed aggression against Ukraine, and also on their family members.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi reported to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy about the new details of the operation in the Kursk Oblast (russia).
