The state energy trader, Energy Company of Ukraine (ECU), will supply electricity to the enterprises of the joint-stock company, Ukrainian Defense Industry (formerly Ukroboronprom).
This follows from a statement by the company, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
"According to the results of purchases made on August 9 at the Prozorro site, the defense company will be able to save about UAH 55.9 million. The ECU became the winner of two out of three lots within the tender of the Ukrainian Defense Industry JSC. The expected cost of electricity for them was 1.639 billion UAH, but as a result of competition, the price dropped to UAH 1.583 billion," the report says.
According to the report, the ECU also supplied electricity to the Ukrainian Defense Industry based on the results of last year's tender.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in 2023, the ECU received a net profit of UAH 148.9 million.
In August 2022, the ECU started commercial activities.
On June 28, 2022, the Cabinet of Ministers transferred from the sphere of management of the Ministry of Energy to the sphere of management of the Ministry of Economy, the authority to manage corporate rights belonging to the state in the authorized capital of the ECU joint-stock company.
The ECU JSC is a multi-disciplinary energy supply enterprise that carries out operations of purchase, sale, supply, and market optimization of energy consumption for commercial customers.
The company operates on the domestic and foreign markets of energy resources.
100% of the company's shares belong to the state.
