During the past 24 hours, 139 combat clashes were recorded, 46 of which were on the Pokrovsk Axis. In addition, the enemy carried out 26 attacks on the Lyman Axis.
This follows from a statement by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).
For example, yesterday, the enemy launched five missile strikes against the positions of Ukrainian units and populated areas using seven missiles, as well as 88 airstrikes, in particular, dropping 96 anti-aircraft missiles. In addition, he carried out 4,679 attacks, 109 of them using MLRSes.
On Pokrovsk Axis, our defenders repelled 46 assault and offensive actions of the aggressor towards the settlements of Vozdvyzhenka, Myroliubivka, Novotroyitske, Novohrodivka, Hrodivka, Mykolayivka, Zhelanne, and Zavitne. The greatest concentration of enemy attacks was near Hrodivka, Mykolayivka, and Novozhelanne; the enemy actively used assault and bombing aircraft.
On the Lyman Axis, the enemy attacked 24 times. Tried to advance near Makiyivka, Nevske, Hrekivka, Novoyehorivka, and Dibrova.
On the Toretsk Axis, the enemy, with the support of aviation, carried out 19 attacks near Sieverne, Toretsk, and Zalizne.
On the Kramatorsk Axis, the occupiers attacked 12 times near Chasiv Yar and Ivanivske. The situation is under control.
Ten enemy attacks took place on the Kupiyansk Axis in a day. The defense forces repelled enemy assaults near Berestove and Stelmakhivka.
On the Siversk Axis, Ukrainian defenders repelled nine assaults by russian invaders near Spirne, Vyimka, and Pereyizne.
On the Kurakhove Axis, the Defense Forces repelled eight attacks on the Krasnohorivka Axis.
On the Kharkiv Axis, six combat clashes took place in the areas of the settlements of Vovchansk and Lyptsi.
On the Vremivka Axis, according to detailed information, the enemy launched three attacks on our positions near Vuhledar.
On the Dnipro Axis, two attempts by the enemy to capture our positions were unsuccessful.
No signs of the formation of enemy offensive groups were detected on the Volyn and Polisskyi Axes.
On the border with the Sumy Region, the enemy from the territory of the russian federation is using aviation to strike the areas of Ukrainian settlements.
"Our soldiers inflict significant losses in manpower and equipment on the occupying forces," the General Staff added.
In particular, yesterday, the aviation and missile forces and artillery of the Defense Forces carried out 18 strikes on the areas of concentration of personnel and anti-aircraft defense systems of the enemy, hitting nine artillery systems and two more important objects of the occupiers.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, overnight into August 18, the Defense Forces of Ukraine struck the Kavkaz plant in the Rostov Oblast, russia, where oil and oil products were stored, which were supplied, in particular, to the russian army.
Also, on the Kursk Axis, the AFU Air Force aircraft blew up another bridge, thus continuing to deprive the enemy of logistical capabilities.
