Currently, the intensity of mining of the Black Sea by the russian occupation forces has been reduced to almost zero. However, individual "wandering mines" still pose a threat.
The spokesman of the Navy of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Dmytro Pletenchuk, announced this on the air of the telethon.
"Since last year, there have been no unpleasant cases in this regard. The intensity of mining practically dropped to zero. The SU-24 plane, which attempted remote mining, was destroyed. The Russians do not dare to go out to sea and lay mines either. Therefore, the situation remained stable," Pletenchuk said.
He also added that the reason for the movement of mines is weather conditions, because during a storm some objects can move, and mines can rise to the surface of the water. In this case, they pose more of a threat.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on the morning of August 16, russia put one missile carrier on combat duty in the Black Sea. Total salvo made up to 4 missiles. There are no enemy ships in the Sea of Azov. There is one russian ship in the Mediterranean, no missile carriers.
On August 10, it became known that the Naval Forces and the Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine attacked the gas tower, to which the russians and equipment had been brought the day before.
