Power outage schedules may be applied again next week in Ukraine due to the expected increase in temperature and increase in consumption.
Deputy Minister of Energy, Svitlana Hrinchuk, announced this on the air of the All-Ukrainian telethon.
"If the temperature rises, we may face the need to apply power outage schedules," the official said.
According to her, the country is currently repairing and restoring energy equipment damaged by enemy attacks. Hrinchuk urged consumers to use electricity sparingly. She also recommended that businesses actively consider importing electricity to reduce the risk of power outages.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the situation in the energy sector has stabilized due to the early completion of repairs at two units of nuclear power plants and a drop in air temperature.
DTEK predicted that, provided there are no new energy attacks and abnormal heat, power outages will not be applied until approximately mid-October.
The load on the power system will increase with the onset of cold weather, because consumers will start using electric heating and will turn on the lights more, because it gets dark earlier in winter.
