Tomorrow, August 16, the law on the legalization of medical marijuana will come into force.
Member of Parliament from the Holos faction, a member of the committee on national health, medical care and medical insurance Olha Stefanishyna has announced this to the Ukrainian News agency.
"The law (on the legalization of medical cannabis) will come into effect on Friday, August 16," the MP said.
She reminded that the law on the legalization of medical cannabis was adopted on December 21, 2023.
The law came into force back in February, however, according to its provisions, it takes effect six months after its entry into force.
Tomorrow, the Ukrainian News agency will publish on its ukranews.com an interview with Olha Stefanishyna regarding the implementation of the law on the legalization of medical marijuana.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on May 24, the Cabinet of Ministers excluded cannabis, its resin, extracts and tinctures from the list of particularly dangerous substances, the circulation of which is prohibited.
The decree will enter into force on August 16, 2024, simultaneously with the enactment of Law No. 3528-IX, which regulates the use of cannabis plants for medical, educational purposes, educational, scientific and research activities and expands patient access to necessary treatment.
