Russia complains about attack of drones on Savasleyka Airfield, where Kinzhal carriers are based

On the morning of August 14, the Savasleyka Airfield in the Nizhny Novgorod Oblast of russia was attacked by drones, local residents of the Nizhny Novgorod Oblast heard explosions. The media reports on the attack on the Savasleyka military air base, where the MiG-31Ks, carriers of Kinzhal missiles, are located.

This was reported by the governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, Gleb Nikitin, and the Astra telegram channel.

According to Nikitin, drones attacked the Kulebak municipal district of the Nizhny Novgorod Oblast. According to him, air defense and electronic warfare equipment were used in the region.

The governor did not write about the hit but noted that "the necessary operational and emergency services are working on the spot" and are engaged in "minimizing the consequences." He also added that "so far, no casualties have been reported."

At the same time, the Astra Telegram channel, citing residents, writes that the attack took place on the local Savasleyka military airfield. According to residents' estimates, at least ten explosions were heard here.

Now, the entrance to the settlements located near the airfield is blocked.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, operatives and analysts of the Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine previously identified 29 people of the command, flight, and technical staff of the 44th separate long-range aviation regiment of the Air Force of the Aerospace Forces of the russian Armed Forces, which is shelling Ukraine at Kinzhal.
