In connection with the increase in the intensity of hostilities and the intensification of the activity of sabotage and intelligence groups of the enemy, the military command has introduced restrictions on the movement of all categories of citizens in the 20-kilometer border zone of the Sumy Region.
This is stated in the message of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Telegram channel, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
"In connection with the increase in the intensity of hostilities, the intensification of the activities of sabotage and reconnaissance groups, the enemy's special operations forces, and with the aim of preserving the lives of the civilian population and military personnel, the military command has introduced restrictions on the movement of all categories of citizens in the twenty-kilometer border zone of the Sumy Region," the message says.
Admission of persons to the specified territory is carried out on passports of citizens of Ukraine with a corresponding mark on the registration of residence in this zone.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, due to regular shelling of the Sumy Region, mandatory evacuation had to be announced in some districts. It was possible to evacuate 19,800 people from the Sumy Region, about 2,000 of them children.
In August, the only functioning checkpoint on the border with the aggressor state of russia was temporarily closed in the Sumy Region.
