Russian dictator vladimir putin was informed that during the week of fighting in the Kursk Oblast, 28 settlements came under the control of the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
The acting governor of the Kursk Oblast Alexei Smirnov told putin about this at a meeting on August 12, his words are quoted by The Moscow Times.
Smirnov reported to putin that the russian military is in a difficult situation in the Kursk Oblast. Due to the lack of a clear front line, the russians have difficulty identifying Ukrainian units operating in the region.
According to Smirnov, during a week of fighting, the Ukrainian military managed to establish control over 480 square kilometers of the Kursk Oblast.
The depth of penetration of Ukrainian forces, he added, was 12 kilometers, width - 40 kilometers.
The acting governor added that 12 civilians were allegedly killed as a result of the hostilities. More than 120 people received various wounds and injuries.
The fate of about two thousand people also remains unknown. We are talking about those with whom, as of this moment, it is not possible to establish a connection. They are considered missing.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on the evening of August 11, russian military blogger and propagandist Yury Podoliaka complained about the advance of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kursk Oblast.
According to the propagandist, the Ukrainian military allegedly succeeded in occupying the village of Gordeevka, and in Martynovka they are trying to defeat the occupying forces.
We will remind you that the day before, Forbes published an article in which it is said that the Armed Forces of Ukraine have allegedly begun to entrench themselves in in the Kursk Oblast, which indicates the long-term plans of the Ukrainian command.
And according to the British publication the Financial Times, the transfer of reinforcements did not help the russians to knock out the Armed Forces of Ukraine of the Kursk Oblast.
