Ukrainian border guards do not detect threats from Belarus - Border Service

Ukrainian border guards do not record any particular threat in this direction after the President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko gave instructions to strengthen the group of troops in the Gomel and Mozyr tactical directions.

This was stated by the speaker of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, Andrii Demchenko, on air at Den.LIVE.

According to Demchenko, Ukrainian intelligence monitors all actions of Belarus and currently no significant concentration of troops is recorded near the Ukrainian border.

"We do not note that units or the movement of heavy equipment and, in general, the personnel of the army of Belarus are in close proximity," he said.

The spokesman of the State Border Guard Service emphasized that most of the movements in Belarus take place deep inside the territory and are only aimed at inflating tension.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on August 10, the self-proclaimed president of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko accused Ukraine of violating the country's airspace.

According to him, on August 9, the Belarusian military allegedly shot down several drones that were allegedly released from the territory of Ukraine.

On the same day, against the background of Lukashenko's statements, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus threatened to close the country's embassy in Kyiv.

It will be recalled that later in Minsk they announced their intention to transfer the Iskander and Polonez missile complexes to the border with Ukraine.
