Russian terrorist forces are increasing the use of special ammunition with dangerous chemical substances against the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
This is stated in the message of the Command of the Support Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Friday, August 9.
The russian occupiers continue to use special ammunition, equipped with dangerous chemical substances, against the Ukrainian military. With this, the aggressor country grossly violates the rules of warfare, ignores the norms and obligations of the Convention on the Prohibition of the Development, Production, Stockpiling and Use of Chemical Weapons and on their Destruction (the Chemical Weapons Convention or CWC), the Command stressed.
"This is, in particular, about the enemy's use of hand gas grenades of the K-51 and RG-VO types, which are means of fighting riots and are prohibited for use as a means of warfare. Only during July, 358 cases of the enemy's use of ammunition with dangerous contents of chemical compounds were recorded and documented," the report says.
From February 15, 2023 to July 24, 2024, the occupiers used ammunition with dangerous chemical substances 3,570 times.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in March, the russian occupiers doubled the discharge of chemical ammunition from Mavic drones.
Russian terrorist forces are increasingly using chemical substances against the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
As of December 2023, russia has carried out 465 chemical attacks on Ukraine since the beginning of the large-scale war.
