In the Kursk Oblast, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) took control of the Sudzha gas-measuring unit, through which gas is transited to Europe via Ukraine.
The russian publication, Meduza, writes about this with reference to russian Telegram channels, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
The Sudzha gas measuring station is located 500 meters from the border with Ukraine near the checkpoint of the same name.
On August 7, a number of russian propagandists and "military bloggers" stated that the AFU allegedly took control of 11 settlements in the south of the Kursk Oblast.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in the first seven months of 2024, russia increased the supply of gas for transit through the Ukrainian gas transport system to the European Union and Moldova by 10.5% month over month to 8.072 billion cubic meters.
