Overnight into August 8, the russian occupiers fired two ballistic and two guided air missiles, as well as four Shaheds, at Ukraine. Air defense forces destroyed both air missiles and all attack UAVs.
This follows from a statement by the commander of the Air Force / Lieutenant General Mykola Oleshchuk.
So, overnight into August 8, 2024, the enemy hit the Kharkiv Region with two Iskander-M ballistic missiles from the Belgorod Region, russia, with two Kh-59 guided air missiles from the airspace over the Sea of Azov, and four strike UAVs of the Shahed type from the direction of Yeisk, russia.
"As a result of anti-aircraft combat, mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces of Ukraine, anti-aircraft missile troops, and EW units of the Air Force shot down two Kh-59 guided air missiles and four attack UAVs in the Odesa, Kherson, and Kirovohrad Regions," the message says.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the army of the aggressor country attacked the Dnipropetrovsk Region at night and early morning on Thursday, August 8, damaging two houses and injuring a child in the Pokrovsk Community.
Also, during the past day, on August 7, russian occupation forces attacked 17 settlements in the Kherson Region. There, people were wounded.
