Mandatory evacuation of the population was announced in 23 settlements of the Sumy District.
The head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, Volodymyr Artiukh, announced this on the air of the telethon.
"Before the broadcast, I signed the relevant order regarding the implementation of mandatory evacuation in 23 settlements of five communities of the Sumy District. It comes into effect from the moment of signing. The tasks have been set, forces and means of evacuation have been prepared," Artiukh said.
According to him, it concerns the evacuation of about 6,000 people, including 425 children.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in some cases parents are criminally liable for refusing to evacuate with their children.
On August 5, the Donetsk Regional Military Administration included the town of Selydove in the list of settlements where forced evacuation of children is carried out.
On August 4, the Donetsk Regional Military Administration announced that the forced evacuation of children was announced in 12 more settlements in the region.
