Under the procedural guidance of the Prosecutor General's Office, evidence of involvement was obtained and the suspicion was served to the commander of the 121st heavy bomber long-range aviation regiment of the Air Force of the Air and Space Forces of the russian Armed Forces, who ordered the bombing of the energy system of Ukraine.
This was announced by the Prosecutor General's Office, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
He was served in absentia with the suspicion of violating the laws and customs of war (Parts 1, 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
According to the investigation, on the orders of this commander, who acted in a previous conspiracy with the military command of the russian federation, from October 2022 to February 2023, his subordinate units of the 121st aviation regiment of the russian federation systematically carried out large-scale missile strikes on the territory of Ukraine.
For this purpose, the enemy used Tu-95 missile-carrying bombers, from which Kh-101 cruise missiles were launched.
The main targets of the occupiers were objects of civil critical infrastructure, in particular the energy system of Ukraine, as well as settlements throughout the territory of Ukraine.
Mass shelling led to the death and dozens of injuries among civilians, as well as the destruction of energy facilities of Ukraine.
In this way, the enemy pursued the goal of intimidating the civilian population of Ukraine, creating conditions for constant tension in society, as well as forcing the leadership of Ukraine to make territorial and political concessions beneficial to the russian federation.

It will be recalled that the immediate command of the commander of the 121st aviation regiment - the commander of long-range aviation, his deputy and the commander of the 22nd heavy bomber aviation division was previously served with the suspicion.
On March 5, 2024, the International Criminal Court issued an arrest warrant for the commander of the long-range aviation of the russian federation.
