Air defense units of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed 446 air targets in July, and in the last week - 217 means of aerial reconnaissance and attack of the occupiers.
The commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Pavliuk reported this in Telegram.
"Air defense units of the Ground Forces make a significant contribution to the defense of the sky over Ukraine and destroy a significant number of enemy air targets: both in the rear and along the line of combat. In the last week of July, the Air Defense Forces of the Ground Forces destroyed 217 units of enemy air reconnaissance and attack equipment, and for July as a whole - 446," Pavliuk informed.
According to his data, in particular, 3 Su-25 aircraft, 1 Kh59/69 cruise missile, 5 Kh101/555 cruise missiles, as well as 437 UAVs of various types were destroyed: Shahed-131/136 - 84, Orlan-10/30 - 14, Zala - 75, Lancet - 115, Supercam - 17, Privet-82 - 109; Molniya and unspecified type of unmanned aerial vehicles - 23.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the commander of the Air Force, Lieutenant General Mykola Oleshchuk, congratulated the airmen on their professional holiday. He said that since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, defenders have destroyed more than 8,000 enemy air targets, including hundreds of planes and helicopters.
