Rada’s National Security Committee backs deferment for men liable for military service under 25 years of age

The Verkhovna Rada's Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence has supported the bill, which proposes to grant a deferment to men liable for military service under 25 years of age.

Oleksii Honcharenko, a Member of Parliament from the European Solidarity faction, announced this on his Telegram channel, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

"The Committee on National Security and Defense has just supported bill 11379-d!!!! This bill is based on my bill 11379," he wrote.

According to him, the supported bill prohibits the mobilization not only of those with limited fitness from 18 to 25 years of age, but also those who have not completed military service or who have not passed a military department.

The bill also provides for the right to release for those who were taken away using that shameful rule.

"And now we have to consider this document in the session hall. I will do everything to make it happen as soon as the parliament convenes," Honcharenko said.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the Verkhovna Rada wants to correct a conflict in the legislation that allows the mobilization of men with limited fitness under the age of 25.
