Mali's military junta breaks off diplomatic relations with Ukraine.
This was stated in the Communiqué on the termination of diplomatic relations, which was published by the Ministry of Territorial Management and Decentralization of Mali on Sunday, August 4.
In the document, Ukraine was accused of supporting terrorism.
The Malian government noted that their country had previously taken a neutral position regarding the russian-Ukrainian conflict, however, in a statement, they spoke about the "neo-Nazi and criminal character" of the Ukrainian government.
The Malian side claims that the representative of the Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Andrii Yusov allegedly recognized Kyiv's participation in the heavy defeat of the forces of the Malian Armed Forces and the russian "Wagnerians" against the Tuaregs on July 25-27, whom the Malian authorities are recruiting to strengthen their army.
Bamako believes that in this way Ukraine allegedly interferes in Mali's internal affairs.
Mali's authorities also plan to go to court over statements by Ukrainian officials who supported the Tuareg.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in the north of the African state of Mali, near the border with Algeria, Tuareg rebels said that they killed and wounded dozens of soldiers and mercenaries of the Wagner PMC during two days of fighting. This came after Mali's army reported the loss of two of its soldiers and the killing of around 20 rebels.
