Overnight into Monday, August 5, the army of the aggressor country, russia, attacked Ukraine with Shahed-type attack drones. The attack took place from the area of Primorsko-Akhtarsk and the Kursk Oblasts in russia.
This follows from a statement by the commander of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Mykola Oleshchuk, in Telegram.
The radio engineering troops of the Air Force of Ukraine promptly detected and escorted 24 enemy drones.
"As a result of the anti-aircraft battle, all the drones were successfully destroyed by mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces of Ukraine, anti-aircraft missile units, and electronic warfare equipment of the Air Force," Oleshchuk said.
The attack covered several regions of Ukraine, including the Kyiv, Vinnytsia, Kirovohrad, Kharkiv, Sumy, Poltava, and Dnipropetrovsk Regions.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, analysts of the Ukrainian OSINT project DeepState said that in Chasiv Yar of the Donetsk Region, the russian invaders are trying to gain a foothold from the western side of the channel.
