Attack on russian airbase in Syria and Tuareg attack on Wagnerians in Mali. What Defense Intelligence says

Andrii Yusov, a representative of the Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, spoke about the consequences of the attack on the russian air base in Syria, as well as the attack of the Tuareg rebels on the terrorists of the Wagner PMC. According to him, russia faced image losses and specific military consequences. In addition, he added, "there will only be more to come."

The intelligence officer talked about this on the air of the telethon.

"First of all, the most important thing is that we can neither confirm nor deny. Yes, reputable media report, sources report. But the fact remains that someone attacked that Russian base in Syria. There are corresponding consequences, damage," he said regarding the information about the attack of Ukrainian special forces on the russian airbase in Syria.

At the same time, Yusov emphasized that the aggressor state russia should bear responsibility for its illegal actions in different parts of the world, and war criminals should be punished.

In addition, the Defense Intelligence representative noted that similar information appears from other parts of the world.

"There was Sudan, then Mali. There are several other countries whose events have not been publicized in the media so far. Here is Syria. Obviously, we are talking about the monopoly in the field of such bandit and pirate activities of the Russian PMCs in the world, in Africa in particular, it is definitely coming to an end. And there are forces that can put these criminals in their place," said Yusov.

The intelligence officer emphasized that there are image losses, which the whole world is talking about and the "howling in the swamps" shows, as well as specific military consequences.

"After the events in Mali, in particular, it is already known about the transfer there of additional units of Russian mercenaries and terrorists from other parts of Africa, in particular," he said.

Yusov noted that this forces the enemy to spend, divert forces and means, spend additional resources to protect their own contingent.

"In general, very good processes. Many thanks to those brave and heroic people who perform similar operations in different parts of the world. And, obviously, since it happened in the past and is only gaining momentum, there will only be more in the future," Yusov concluded.

Recall that earlier media, citing sources, said that Ukrainian special forces attacked the russian air base in Syria after the meeting of russian dictator vladimir putin with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, Western media reported that in the north of the African state of Mali, near the border with Algeria, Tuareg rebels said they had killed and wounded dozens of soldiers and mercenaries of the Wagner PMC during two days of fighting. This came after Mali's army claimed the loss of two of its soldiers and the killing of around 20 rebels.

The ASTRA publication, with reference to russian Telegram channels, reported that the commander of the Wagner Anton Yelizarov ("Lotus"), who previously led the offensive on Soledar and Bakhmut during the full-scale invasion of the russian federation into Ukraine, was killed in Mali as a result of an ambush by Tuareg rebels.
