From August 1, service centers of the Ministry of Interior Affairs will issue new model driver's license forms and vehicle registration certificates with additional protection elements.
This is stated in the message of the Main Service Center of the Ministry of Interior Affairs, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
"A special marking is added to the holographic image of the logo of the Ministry of Interior Affairs on the protective coating of the forms. It consists of three letters and six numbers. Such increased protection will significantly reduce the risks of document forgery," said Mykola Rudyk, head of the Main Service Center of the Ministry of Interior Affairs.
Rudyk spoke about another element of protection on the car registration certificate forms that are already issued - this is a QR code placed in the lower right corner.
"It contains a link to the online service of the Main Service Center of the Ministry of Interior Affairs, where you can check your documents. After scanning the QR code, all the information entered in the electronic register will appear on the screen - series, document number and vehicle data," he noted.
The Main Service Center notes that all documents previously issued at service centers of the Ministry of Interior Affairs remain valid and citizens can continue to use them, however, if they wish, they can go to any convenient service center of the Ministry of Interior Affairs and exchange for a new model driver's license and car registration certificate.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in May 2023, the service of exchanging and renewing a driver's license became available in the Diia application.
From November 2023, Ukrainians can take a theory test at the service centers of the Ministry of Interior Affairs without having to attend a driving school.
